This was one of my first real web projects, created purely out of passion for the Stargate universe. Using Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG editor was incredibly educational - I could move elements around visually, then switch to code view to see what HTML was generated. This back-and-forth taught me how HTML works in a very intuitive way. I spent countless hours building encyclopedia entries, writing episode summaries, and keeping up with news about the shows. It wasn't just about the code - it taught me about content organization, regular maintenance, and how to structure information for visitors. Looking back, this simple fan site was where my web development journey truly began. The satisfaction of publishing content via FTP and seeing it live on the web was addictive. I also created a similar site for Code Lyoko around the same time, applying the same skills to different content. These early projects taught me that if you're passionate about something, you can learn the technical skills needed to share that passion with others online.
