Alex Werner is a full-stack software engineer and crypto / peer-to-peer specialist based in Toulouse, France. Self-taught since age eleven, he has spent twenty years building "the layer beneath the visible world" — consensus protocols, peer-to-peer networks and self-custody infrastructure — with the last nine-plus years in blockchain, DeFi and real-world-asset systems.

He co-invented ChainLocks and the long-living masternode quorums (SML/DML) at Dash Core Group — a consensus breakthrough patented as US20220108285A1, with the underlying technology now woven into projects securing $350B+. He led backend for Dash, a top-five cryptocurrency that reached a ~$10B market cap, and was the first engineer of a social network that scaled to 110,000 users in its first year.

Blockchain protocol and consensus engineering, smart contracts and Solidity security, DeFi and real-world-asset (RWA) tokenization, peer-to-peer and distributed systems, wallet architecture and self-custody, and cryptography.
